MILFORD — Third graders at Delaware Valley Elementary School had a special treat earlier this month, when Jeffrey Stocker of the American Readers Theatre held a writer’s project with all third-grade classes.
Stocker gives students interested in poetry to write their own verse. This year, Sarah Hawthorne, an eleventh grader from Delaware Valley High School, had a chance through Literacy Through the Arts to sing her "Heart Song." Interested third-graders were asked to write poetry on different topics, then read them to the other students.
Last up were dancers from The Dance Center in Port Jervis, who danced for the crowd.
