Wayne Memorial plans Mistletoe Ball

HONESDALE — The Wayne Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will hold its 76th annual Mistletoe Ball on Saturday, Jan. 21, at Silver Birches in Tafton.
This traditionally elegant event will include cocktails, dinner, and dancing to the live music of the Groove Train Band.
The theme of the ball is “You Gotta Have Heart.” Proceeds will purchase new equipment and an updated telemetry system for the hospital’s cardiac rehabilitation unit.
The event will include donated raffle prizes, from overnight stays to jewelry, wine, and more.
The cash bar starts at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m. and live music at 8 p.m.
“It’s always a smashing good time,” said Martha Wilson, co-chair. “It’s usually pretty cold in January, but inside the Silver Birches banquet room, it will be warm and lively. We invite everyone to attend and help their nonprofit community hospital.”
Wayne Memorial opened a cardiac catheterization laboratory, the Heart and Vascular Center, in June. Officials say it’s far exceeded expectations, and saved many lives.
The cardiac rehabilitation unit helps patients get back on their feet and stay healthy. It's busier than ever, Wilson said.
“That’s why we chose the cardiac rehab department as our beneficiary this year," she said. "With our help, patients will experience enhanced personal care and faster recovery.”
Tickets are $85 a person. For more information or reservations call 570-226-9750.
