— The Delaware Valley School District's main campus saw some timely physical updates during the summer, some still in the final stages of completion.
The new sport complex was completed recently, said Marvin Eversdyke, director of support services. And the Stadium Entrance saw upgrades.
“We put in ten new pillars and fencing between the pillars," he said. "The old wooden booth was replaced by two black decorative cement booths."
The old field turf, installed in 2004, normally has a life of eight to 10 years.
“We got 13 years of use of the field,” said Eversdyke.
All of the outside projects were completed apart from the new maintenance building, which is very nearly finished. Some wall insulation, electrical work, and painting remained to be done, Eversdyke said last week, and the stadium entrance will also get its finishing touches.
Inside — apart from a good cleaning — upgrades include the school store in the high school, where new lighting, display cases, and counters were added.
The athletic trainers’ room is scheduled to be finished by the beginning of the winter sports season in November, and is already three-fourths of the way there.
New tiling for the floors was done by the auditorium, office, and music rooms, as well as in White Hallway by old gym and art rooms.
There were technical updates too, with new Mac computers, Smartboards, and an art computer graphics lab, Eversdyke said.
