Lovin' Columbus Day in Milford
The holiday was a time for ice cream, family and getting loose in the borough last Monday. Michael Scott Stanbro, 2, cooled off from the summer-like heat with ice cream, while at the Ann Street Park 16-year-old Joshua Vesely was demonstrating his backflips for two young ladies. Nearby, on a shady park bench sat the Graham family of Dingmans Ferry, Alex, Ebony and eight-month-old Memphis. The park will soon be getting new lighting, new pavement for the basketball court and other improvements from a $48,000 community block grant. The Pike County commissioners announced borough grants amounting to $106,000 last Thursday. Other funding will go to the street enhancement program. “The commissioners have been very good to the borough,” said Borough President Matthew Osterberg. (Photos by David Hulse)
