| 29 Sep 2011 | 03:19

There was a solemn Memorial Day Service held at Gold Key Lake Monday where Fr. Paul Mullen of St. Vincent DePaul Church officiated. About 25 people were in attendance for the service. It honored both 1st Lieutenant Lou Allen, who had lived in Gold Key Lake prior to his death in Iraq in June of 2005, as well as all fallen American servicemen and women who have given their lives to keep America safe. Eleven-year-old Trevor Bertsch, his grandfather Bob Christiansen and recently retired Army Sgt. Bob Letts are pictured standing in formation at the community monument honoring the military dead.
