MILFORD — Five Webelos Scouts graduated into Boy Scouts at the annual Blue and Gold Banquet, which was held March 22 at the Fellowship Hall in the First Presbyterian Church in Milford. Members of the Milford Pack 71, they each worked very hard to earn the Arrow of Light Award, which is the highest award in Cub Scouting. In order to earn the Award, the scouts must commit themselves to living the Scout Oath and Scout Law. A Cross Over Ceremony was held where the boys crossed over a wooden bridge to symbolize the crossing over from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts. As they have completed the Cub Scout Trail, together with their families and their fellow Cub Scouts, everyone wished them well as they began to embark onto a new trail ... the Boy Scout Trail. After the ceremony, a feast of the scouts’ favorite foods was served up, including a large birthday cake decorated with sprinkles, special Cub Scout chocolates, and candles in honor of celebrating 100 years of Boy Scouting.
