Milford withholds plan okay

MILFORD — Uncertain about the property’s future, the Milford Township Supervisors on Monday tabled approval of a two-lot subdivision of about 110 acres of the Santos Farm property. Solicitor Doug Jacobs noted that board could not deny approval if the plan meets ordinance standards, but Chair Don Quick said he wanted to learn more about county or National Park Service plans for the property before acting. Quick believes part of the property should be used for a needed sewage treatment facility, and claims the National Park Service (NPS) has opposed all efforts to locate one in the area. The NPS and Pike County have both expressed interest in the flood plain property. Quick opposes NPS acquisition and “nobody from the county ever comes to address anything before us,” Quick said. The supervisors can withhold approval for up to 90 days under the township ordinance.
