Naturalist John Serrao will speak at dinner

    HAWLEY - The Pike County Conservation District will have its Annual Dinner at Ehrhardt’s Waterfront Resort & Banquet Center at 6 p.m. on Dec. 1, in Hawley. This year’s special guest will be John Serrao, local naturalist, who will be giving a presentation on “Mammals of Northeastern Pa. - Past and Present.” Serrao has been presenting environmental education programs in the Pike County area since 1972. Although he includes in each program important, and sometimes sobering information about the problems facing today’s wildlife and their environments. This particular event will include a presentation on the 56 species that inhabit our area as well as species that no longer exist. The annual dinner will also include a celebration of the district’s 50th anniversary with local officials, cooperating agencies and current and past board and staff members.
