Nellie's Naturals a healthy option

MILFORDnNellie's Naturals opened in May, but just had its ribbon-cutting ceremony last Saturday. It's the second natural foods store opened by owners Cindy Schreyer and Karen Nell. Their first successful venture, Body and Soul, opened in Bethel, CT, two years ago. Among Nellie's offerings is a full sandwich menu, seafood, meats, vegetarian dishes, snacks, salads, fresh soups, low carb and wheat and gluten-free selections, baked foods, dry goods (including organic beans and seeds), organic baby food, teas, natural sodas, juices and smoothies, bath oils and soaps, candles, pet foods, cleaning supplies, beauty products, tee-shirts and books. There are homeopathic medicines, fresh fruit, ice cream and aroma therapy items. "Whenever possible our food is organically grown and always prepared with your good health in mind," is the promise posted on the menu. Party catering is available. Nellie's Naturals is located in Milford at 115 7th Street. They're open Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call them at 570-409-1960.
