N.Y. man charged in bank heist

MATAMORAS — Police in New York State. on Tuesday charged a Poughkeepsie, N.Y. man with the March 4 robbery of the Matamoras Citizens Bank branch. Frank Scott Surico, 43, reportedly was captured following a short chase in the city of Poughkeepsie. He was to be extradited to face charges here Wednesday morning. Eastern Pike Regional police said the bank was robbed at about 2 p.m., when a white male entered and demanded money from the teller stating that it was a robbery. The robber crossed over the bridge into New York with about $7,000. No one was injured in the incident..
