Open houses in honor of Mom

MILFORD — A special night out for the ladies is on tap just before Mother’s Day, on May 8 from 6 to 8 p.m., but you don’t have to be a mother to enjoy it. The Healthy Skin Shop, Denim or Lace and the Firefly Toy Shop are staying open late, and since they are located close to each other, it is easy to visit all three shops for the free events. Visit the Healthy Skin Shop for food and drink, a free makeover and a raffle. Free samples of handmade soaps and bath products will be also be available. At Denim or Lace, there will be an open house with food and drink, discount cards, and a free raffle for a $50-gift certificate; you will also get the first word on what the fashion designers are planning for the fall season. Don’t have a babysitter? Don’t worry; The Firefly Toy Shop is offering a free craft night where Dads can bring the kids. Simply bring a plastic bottle that your child will recycle into a beautiful “stained glass” vase. This craft is free and open to all ages, but pre-registration is required.
