OverPASS Needs additional work

Residents recently asked the Milford Township Supervisors about PennDOT’s delay in completing the patching on the US Route 6 overpass of Interstate Highway 84, at exit 46, west of Milford Borough. PennDOT Spokesperson Karen Dussinger said that in beginning to patch the deck, workers discovered more deterioration than expected. They stopped patching and elected to replace the entire westbound deck. “This will give the bridge a much longer life expectancy. We will evaluate the condition of the eastbound deck after we remove traffic from it in the spring. Hydro-demolition is one option we will look at.” Dussinger said extra statewide funding is available and estimated that the additional work will probably cost another $1 million.
