PennDOT begins work

    on Well Road-Route 6 intersection Greeley — Crews have set up barriers on Route 6 where it intersects with state Route 434 and begun work on a four-part project. On state Route 739 between Interstate Highway-84 and the intersection with 434. a sharp curve will be removed. A signal was be activated the week of March 31 to begin to control a single lane of traffic. Curbing and similar drainage work will be done at the intersection of 739 and 434. No work has started at this location. On 434 in between 739 and US Route 6, a sharp curve will be removed. Traffic there will also be controlled by a temporary signal. No work is currently taking place at this location. On Route 6 at its intersection, 434 will be realigned to meet Route 6 at a perpendicular angle. Currently there is a jog in the intersection. Traffic will be controlled by a temporary signal when work resumes. No signal will be installed on Route 6. Work will continue through fall 2008. Two lanes of travel will be maintained throughout the project and controlled by the temporary signals. Drivers are alerted to be aware of construction vehicles and crews on this winding road.
