Pike Democrats appoint new leaders

DINGMAN — Julius Litman was unanimously elected to be the chairman of the Pike County Democratic Committee at its meeting on Feb. 28. Litman, his wife and daughter are residents of Gold Key in Milford. He is a private portfolio manager. He was educated at Rutgers University; and was awarded a Masters Degree in Mass Communications from the University of Pennsylvania; and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Syracuse University. He worked on the Presidential Campaign of George McGovern and the New Jersey Gubernatorial campaign of two-term Governor Brendan Byrne. Renee Hoover of Delaware Township was chosen to be the vice-chair and will remain as the Recording Secretary. She works as a Paralegal for the Orange County Attorney’s office; and is a Sales Associate for Ed Nikles Custom Builder. Dr. Cheryl Glenn of Delaware Township remains as Treasurer. She is also the chair of the Delaware Township Democratic Club. Dr. Glenn is a practicing speech/language pathologist. She earned her Master’s Degree in Speech/Language Pathology from Adelphi University and her Doctorate from California Coast University. She has held numerous elected and appointed positions in the American Speech/Language and Hearing Association, and the speech/language hearing associations of New York State and New York City. She is currently involved in the election efforts of Presidential candidate Barack Obama. Marian Keegan of Lackawaxen Township is the Pike County delegate to the Pennsylvania Democratic State Committee. She was elected to this post in the 2006 Primary Election. Marian Keegan earned a Masters of Forestry degree from Duke University. She is a professionally registered forester and holds the position of Director of Community Conservation with the Hemlock Farms Community Association. She served of the Elk County, Pa., Democratic Committee, prior to moving to Pike County, as Precinct Chair for Jones Township. She is currently coordinating campaign efforts in Pike County for Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton.
