‘Poring' over new stormwater solutions

Ken Crank, Director of Concrete Promotion for the Pennsylvania Aggregates and Concrete Association, demonstrates the infiltration properties of pervious concrete while the crew from Mercereau Masonry, Inc. installs the parking area at the PPL Environmental Center in Hawley. Unlike most paved surfaces, pervious concrete is a mix of coarse aggregate, cement, and water that allows rainwater to filter through to underlying geotextile and aggregate stone layers and back into the ground.
