Port cop helps deliver baby

    PORT JERVIS, N.Y. — On Oct. 14, at about 1:59 a.m., Port Jervis Police Officers Walter Quick and Robert Card were called to an apartment at 29 Culvert Street, to assist a woman in labor. Arriving, they determined that the 28 year old woman’s water had broken and she was experiencing contractions within a minute apart. While awaiting EMS, Officer Walter Quick began assisting the woman and subsequently assisted her with delivering a healthy newborn girl. The child and mother were transported by ambulance to Bon Secours Community Hospital for evaluation. At the time of this press release, hospital staff report that both mother and child are healthy
