Promoted troopers get new jobs

    HERSHEY — Local state police assignments will change following the promotion of 30 new sergeants and 56 new corporals at March 24 ceremonies at the Milton Hershey School. Sgt. Paul V. Cavallaro of Matamoras, now stationed at Troop R in Blooming Grove, will be moving to a new assignment with Troop K in Philadelphia. He has been with the state police since 1991. Sgt. John P. Clader of Milford, will move to Troop M, Bethlehem, from his current Blooming Grove assignment. Clader has been with the state police since 1988. Sgt. Michael A. Huffstutler of Lake Ariel, a state trooper since 1975, will be reassigned from the Troop R, Honesdale station to Blooming Grove. Corp. Charles J. Maiorana of Duryea, in Luzerne County will also move from Troop R, Honesdale to the Blooming Grove station. He joined the state police in 2000. Corp. Robert S. Betnar of Plains, in Luzerne County is reassigned from Troop L, in Schuylkill Haven to Troop R, in Blooming Grove. Betnar has been a trooper since 1998.
