Property tax elimination event scheduled

PLYMOUTH The School Property Tax Elimination Act (SPTEA), pending Pennsylvania House of Representatives legislation, will be the topic of a public event sponsored by five Northeast Pennsylvania taxpayer advocacy groups that are members of the statewide grassroots Pennsylvania Coalition of Taxpayer Associations (PCTA). When enacted, the School Property Tax Elimination Act will forever abolish school property taxes on owner-occupied residences and farmsteads and will transform Pennsylvania school funding to align it with twenty-first century realities. The event will be held on Thursday, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m., in the Wyoming Valley West High School, US Route 11, Plymouth. Introductions will be given by a member of each participating group, details of the School Property Tax Elimination Act will be presented by David Baldinger of the Pennsylvania Taxpayers Cyber Coalition, and there will be a question and answer session following the presentation.
