Radio station tower hearing on hold
MILFORD A public hearing on a conditional zoning use permit for a proposed 190-foot AM radio tower will resume on May 4. The Milford Township Supervisors on Monday continued the hearing to allow the later appearance by developer Bud Williamson, of Digital Radio, located in Slate Hill, N.Y. Engineer Joe Hudak said Williamson has already acquired a Federal Communications Commission license for an AM radio station, which would serve the Milford area. The tower would be built on five acres set aside from a 26.1 acre tract from the lands formerly of Julio Santos. It would be accessed from a private road, owned by Viola Canouse, who is also the township secretary treasurer. Several neighbors from the Moon Valley Falls development, which is accessed from the private road, voiced concerns about the impact of construction equipment on the road. Some claimed hearing notice letters did not appear, which Hudak denied. “We can’t make people read the (newspaper) legals,” said Supervisors Chair Don Quick. The supervisors will meet again at 7 p.m., on May 4, at the township building.
