Recreation fees announced for Delaware Water Gap

    BUSHKILL - The National Park Service this week announced that fees for use of Smithfield Beach, Bushkill Launch, Dingmans Launch, Milford Beach, and the Watergate Recreation Sites within the recreation area will begin on Apr. 7. He added that there will be no increase in fees this year. Annual passes for use of these expanded amenity sites are now available for purchase. The fee schedule is as follows: Daily fee per car: • Monday through Friday, vehicles with seven (7) persons or less, $7.00 per vehicle • Saturday, Sunday, Holidays, vehicles with seven (7) persons or less, $10 per vehicle • Every day: Vehicles with eight (8) persons or more, daily fee plus $1 per person above the 7 person limit Walk-in/bicycle in: • Daily,$1 per person • Annual walk-in/bicycle in, $10 per person Annual pass: $45 The Annual Pass is good from date of sale through Dec. 31, 2007. A second pass for vehicles registered to the same name at the same address is available at half price $25 with proof of registration. New this year, is a choice between the traditional bumper sticker or a hangtag for your rearview mirror. Please indicate which pass you prefer when ordering. Annual passes can be purchased at park headquarters in Bushkill, the Route 209 Commercial Vehicle Contact Stations in Bushkill and Milford, and the New Jersey District Office in Walpack, N.J., Monday through Friday during normal business hours. The America the Beautiful Senior Pass is a lifetime passport for persons age 62 and older. It admits the holder and accompanying passengers (in a private vehicle) and provides a 50% discount on federal use fees charged at facilities and or services such as: camping, parking, swimming, and boat launching. There is a one time charge of $10. The America the Beautiful Access Pass is a lifetime passport for persons who are legally blind or permanently disabled. The benefits are the same as for the Senior Passport. America the Beautiful Senior and Access Passes can be obtained at Park Headquarters and the New Jersey District Office. Discounts for holders of the Golden Age and Golden Access Passports still apply. The America the Beautiful Annual Pass is not accepted for admission to individual recreation sites here at Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area.
