Republicans elect Hummel

MILFORD - The Pike County Republican Committee recently conducted their reorganization meeting. Newly elected members were welcomed, business was conducted and officer elections held. Those elected included: Kathleen Hummel, chair, Randy Schmalzle, vice chair, Greg Chelak, secretary, and Mike Peifer, treasurer. Hummel thanked everyone for their support and is looking forward to the fall elections. “We have excellent candidates,” including: Lynn Swann for Governor, Jim Matthews, Lt. Governor, Rick Santorum, U.S. Senate, Don Sherwood Congress, Lisa Baker, State Senate, 20th District, Mike Peifer, State Representative in the 139th District and Donna Asure, State Representative in the 189th District. Hummel said the goals of the Republican Committee is to get out the vote on Nov. 7, by bringing in new voters registrations, getting out information of our qualified candidates and work. Hummel also congratulated Harry Kesler and Julie Forbes on being their election to the state committee, as well as local committee member election winners: Denise Fiztpatrick, GregChelak, Kevin Stroyan, HarryForbes and John Sivick. The party agenda for the coming year includes: • Aug. 14, “ Pike Republican Golf Classic,” at Woodloch Springs, Lackawaxen. Corporate Sponsors for Golf Hole, $250; T- Signs, $100; Golfers, $120. • Aug. 22-26, Pike County Agricultural Fair, bring the family, come to our booth and meet the candidates, learn more about the Pike County Repbublican Committee and have a good time. • Aug. 29 - Sept 4, Greene/ Dreher Fair being held in Newfoundland.
