Restaurant wants more signage
DINGMAN Robert Grimm of the Muir House Inn and Restaurant is trying to get the size and number of the restaurants signs increased. Before the township supervisors earlier this month, Grimm told Chair Tom Mincer, “People come into The Muir House and tell us they didn’t even know we were there because we are set down below the level of our road frontage which makes it difficult to see us.” Grimm said the issue is not one of size. “We don’t want it to be big but would like it to be larger than the 16 square feet allowed now and we would like to have more than one sign because we are set down below grade level.” Zoning Enforcement Officer Chris Wood explained that the township has restrictions in place for outdoor signage. “A sign is a sign,” responded Wood to the statement Grimm made regarding The Muir House being hard to see with its current signage. Supervisors Chair Tom Mincer told Grimm that it would be more appropriate to have the plans for new signage submitted to the planning commission first. Grimm told Mincer that he would call the planning commission secretary and arrange to be on the agenda for the next meeting and have his sign plans ready for review.
