‘Route A' opposition gets visual

On July 19, Geoffrey Peckham put up large signs and yellow “caution” taped the area where the power line goes through Cummins Hill Road and US Route 6 & 209 by the campground. He also went to several businesses on US Route 6 & 209 and with few exceptions, all agreed to post signs. Luhrs Hardware’s distribution location was mentioned on several of the large signs, and all 1,000 signs produced have since been taken. “The county is being plastered with this grassroots effort to stop Route A from happening,” Peckham said. He has ordered more material and is planning to print another 500 or so to replenish Luhrs. “People want to state their opposition to what would be a real travesty to our area,” he said.
