Milford — Weichert, Realtors® - Ruffino Real Estate Realtor/Owner Donna Ruffino went to jail for good, “for the good of the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), that is.” Ruffino volunteered to spend time at the Milford lock-up to raise funds for “Jerry’s Kids®,” she said, and was released once friends and associates donated bail money to get her out. The bail-out date was Apr. 17. MDA serves people in the local community by providing clinics, support groups, assistance with the purchase and repair of needed equipment, and summer camp for kids. The organization also funds research grants to help find treatments and cures for some 43 neuromuscular diseases that affect people of all ages. Ruffino has asked that everyone come forward and help her reach her goal on behalf of the families that MDA serves. The office can be reached at 570-296-7570, or “see me behind bars in person,” she said.
