WESTFALL - Inventions and demonstrations galore filled Delaware Valley Elementary School during its exciting end-of-the-year science fair. The fair, chaired by fourth grade teacher Allen Brocious, involved every student in the school in the creation of hundreds of varied projects which were shared with fellow students, staff, and families. Principal Sonya K. Cole said she was thrilled with the quantity and quality of the kindergarten through fifth grade creations. “Allen sent out the initial pamphlet and follow-up reminders, and all of the teachers came up with ways to help the children formulate ideas for projects they could make at home,” said Cole. “Most teachers sent suggestions home and Web site addresses where children could find information.” Besides the personal satisfaction of creating and showing their project, each child was also graded. Kindergarten through second grade projects were displayed in the students’ classrooms, and third through fifth were displayed in the gym. “It was an outstanding event and the projects were excellent!” said Cole.
