Siptroth named to appropriations & transportation committees
HARRISBURG State Rep. John Siptroth, D-Monroe/Pike, has been appointed to serve on several prominent House committees for the 2009-10 legislative session. Siptroth remains on the Appropriations, Commerce, Transportation, and Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness committees. He has also been named to serve on the Tourism and Recreational Development Committee. The lawmaker will also serve as chairman of the Transportation Committee’s Subcommittee on Aviation. “I am pleased to have again been assigned to the Appropriations Committee,” Siptroth said. “The role and activities of this committee are critical especially in this tight budget year. Also the Transportation Committee will have a significant function as we examine ways to invest in our state’s highway and bridge infrastructure.” Siptroth is happy to be assigned to the tourism committee, where he will consider legislation that could affect one of the Poconos’ largest industries.
