Some Clinton audience reactions

MILFORD-Patricia Dugan of Milford has been a fan of the Clinton family since President Bill Clinton’s inauguration in 1993. When the former President visited Wilkes Barre earlier in the week, she had her copy of “On the Pulse of Morning” autographed; on Sunday, she urged her sister Diane of Harrisburg to come to Milford to have her copy of the book signed as well. Not only did President Clinton signature Diane’s copy, but also Patricia’s framed photo of Clinton meeting President John F. Kennedy in June 1963. “I always knew we’d get it signed,” said the Milford sister, who has been to three Clinton rallies. “This means a lot to both of us — two sisters and two stories coming together in one place for Hillary.” • Erin Corry, 13, of Milford jumped and giggled excitedly with her friends after President Clinton shook her hand at the end of his rally. Corry, however, says she’s a fan of the “cool” Sen. Barack Obama, and that her mom made her attend the W. George Street rally. • Michael Weinstein is a Pike County attorny and devout fan of Sen. Clinton. “Sen. Barack Obama is a very strong and inspiring candidate, but Hillary is a much better leader,” said Weinstein, whose house would have hosted the Clinton rally had he been available sooner. “She’s better equipped to deal with the failing economy — what I think is the most important part of this election.. This was a great rally with a spectacular turnout; I thought the President was very inspirational.” • Before arriving at the rally site on W. George Street, President Clinton stopped by the Milford Diner and other Broad Street venues. According to Diner owner George Cattes, the President spent half an hour visiting nearly 30 people at their tables, signing autographs and shaking hands. “He was very friendly,” said Cattes. “He also looks a lot bigger [in person] than he does on TV — almost 6 feet tall.”
