Paupack. The Tanglewood 8 Ball League used a familiar tool to give a properly distanced donation to their local food pantry on Dec. 23. Pictured is Tom Koster (left) using a pool cue to donate a $700 check to Bob Paine (right), and June Horton (center), coordinators of Paupack United Methodist Church Loaves and Fishes Pantry. “Our league played at the Wallenpaupack Bowling and Sports Center in their large billiards room prior to the lock-down this spring,” said Koster, who facilitates the league. “Normally these funds would go toward league prizes and awards, but the members agreed that this year supporting a local food pantry would be a better use of the money.” Paine said the pantry has been operating for 20 years and currently supports about 60 families. The cash will be used to purchase canned goods, paper products, and personal hygiene items, as well as fresh food products for fast distribution. The pantry also maintains a closet to meet clothing needs.
