On February 7th, Delaware Valley hosted Western Wayne in a varsity basketball game, and it was an electric evening of basketball. Despite losing three games prior, Delaware Valley’s 62-37 win was an impressive victory. The excitement in the air was felt as soon as the game began. The cheerleaders on both sides battled it out, and underclassmen boys were invited to take part in a shooting event.

Delaware Valley started strong, leading by six points before Western Wayne fought back. But halfway through the first period, Delaware Valley caught fire, scoring at will and playing killer defense. The team maintained this momentum throughout the game, and despite a brief scoring lag in the third period, they closed the period up 56-31.

The final period saw both teams clearing their benches. Delaware Valley had a comfortable 30-point lead before they finished walking away with a 62-37 victory.

The standout players of the game were Jake Brower, who led all scorers with 26 points, Chris U’Glay with 16 points, and Ronnie McManus, the field general who controlled the ball and fed other players. U’Glay’s presence in the hoop area was felt by Western Wayne, as he blocked everything and owned the rebounds.

This exciting win could be a sign that Delaware Valley is back on track, and ready to regain its momentum from earlier in the season.
