Delaware Valley Warriors fall to Riverside Vikings in season's first game

MILFORD — Riverside Junior/Senior High School (Taylor, Pa.) defeated Delaware Valley High School in varsity girls basketball on Friday, Dec. 9.
The final score was 54-24.
The Delaware Valley Lady Warriors barely got out of the gate before getting buried in a barrage of points by the Riverside Lady Vikings. Riverside was well ahead by halftime with the score 28-10.
In the second half Delaware Valley finally began to show signs of life, but it was too little too late. Riverside dominated the court both on offense and defense.
Lizzy Spindler led in scoring, with 14 points. Jess Millan scored 11 points and Shelby Slaboda scored 10 points for Riverside.
Jenna Pacella scored 7 points and Hannah Gallagher scored 6 points for Delaware Valley. Stephanie O'Grady and Faith Fucetola each scored 4 points for Delaware Valley.
The season opener took place at Delaware Valley High School.
