Lebanon Valley College recognizes student-athletes


ANNVILLE, Pa. — Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pa., recently held its spring recognition of student-athletes.
Local student-athletes include:
Timothy Volavka of Milford, a graduate of Delaware Valley High School, is pursuing a bachelor of arts in criminal justice at Lebanon Valley and was a member of the baseball teams. Lebanon Valley's baseball team finished the season with a 17-22 overall record and went 8-13 in MAC Commonwealth play. Marshal Kiessling was named to the all-conference first-team, while Zac Edwards and Mike Puglisi earned second-team recognition. Colin Albright, Brett Fundell, and Greg Orlando received honorable mention nods. Seniors Brett Fundell and Zach Smith and juniors Mike Puglisi and Zac Edwards each surpassed the 100-career hits milestone during their 2016 campaigns. Orlando was also named to the MAC Spring Sportsmanship Team.
Danielle Krick of Milford, a graduate of Delaware Valley High School, is pursuing a bachelor of science in exercise science and was a member of the women's tennis team. The Flying Dutchmen finished with a 7- 11 overall record, going 4-3 in conference play. Unfortunately, the season ended in the semifinal round of the MAC Commonwealth postseason tournament against Messiah. Two players were recognized with MAC Commonwealth All-Conference honors. Junior Rebecca Pierpont and sophomore Marla Scacchitti were voted to the all-conference second-team.
