WESTFALL - The Delaware Valley High School boys’ basketball team emerged from Tuesday’s Lackawanna League contest with a six point bulge over North Pocono, winning 61-55. They held a slim lead through the first half. The first quarter ended 14-13 and the score was 27-13 at the end of the half. The Trojans pulled ahead several times in the second half. About one and a half minutes into the fourth quarter Ryan Murphy tied the score 46-46, hitting a three pointer. The game ended with Jaywong Benton sinking two foul shots. In the scoring, Ryan Murphy had 14 points followed by Pat Smith with 13. When asked what he thought was key in the victory, senior Richie Hearon responded, “Murphy shot the ball real well in addition to a good defense.” The boys next home game will be on Feb. 4, against Honesdale.
