Sojourn paddle begins Sunday

    LACKAWAXEN - The 2006 Delaware River Sojourn will begin its eight-day paddle on Sunday, June 18, on the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River. The event is open to canoeists and kayakers of all ages. Reservations made in advance of June 9 are $65 per day or $45 for children age 12 and under riding in the same boat. The fee covers the guided river trip, boat rental if needed, shuttle transportation, educational programs, a souvenir water bottle, certain meals, and optional overnight camping. In addition to the daily fee, a one-time, $8 per person insurance fee applies only to non-members of the American Canoe Association, which sanctions this event. For reservations postmarked after June 9, add a one-time $20 late fee. Registration forms, along with June 18-25 day plans and additional information, are available on-line at www.delawareriversojourn.org.
