Wally Lake Fest: Three days of fun and sun

LAKE WALLENPAUPACK — Wally Lake Fest, a weekend-long celebration of the third largest man-made lake in Pennsylvania, will be held from Aug. 25 through 27, on the water and on land too.
All 52 miles of shoreline at Lake Wallenpaupack will be part of the fun, as families spend the last summer weekend together before back to school and the Labor Day holiday.
This August marks the eighth year for Wally Lake Fest. The party gets started on Friday with live music at local restaurants and pubs and a comedic play at the local playhouse. The live entertainment continues throughout the weekend.
Activities planned for Saturday and Sunday include an open market fair, motorcycle ride, bike ride, kayak and standup paddleboard demos, artisan and craft fairs, a beer tasting, live music on a floating stage, a watercraft and outdoor show, free tastings of local cheeses, train rides, a boat parade, sailboat rides, a sailboat regatta race, a kids' activity zone complete with face painting and tattoos, balloons, a car cruise, shopping, an ice cream social with homemade ice cream, and several contests.
Free shuttle buses will run throughout the weekend, making a variety of stops: on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Wally Lake Fest is hosted by the Downtown Hawley Partnership and presented by Lighthouse Harbor Marina.
