Warrior swimmers finish strong

WESTFALL - The Delaware Valley boys and girls swimming and diving team recently finished the year’s District 2 AAA competition in second place. The girls team placed, meaning it finished 1st through 6th, in eleven out of twelve events and the boys team placed in all of their events. Sophomore Sarah Navarro broke the team record in the 100-meter freestyle with a time of 56.38. She also will advance to state competition for placing first in the 200-meter individual medley in which she set a new team record with a time of 2:18.82. The 200-meter medley relay team of Steve Papandreou, Mike Daggett, Rusty Cook, and Jamie Gennan and the 400-meter freestyle relay team of Sarah Navarro, Nissa Marione Lauren Dean, and Tracey Vitchers broke the team records in their respective events. Senior Nissa Marione will accompany Navarro to state competition for her first place victory in the 100-meter butterfly which set a new team record 1:03.45.
