WESTFALL - Heavy rains on Friday night did not extinguish the fire within the Warrior football team as they claimed victory for the third straight week. Delaware Valley defeated Pocono Mountain East, a team that entered the contest with a 0-2 record, 63-13. Die-hard fans still took to the stands despite the weather, some with umbrellas, and others running on pure adrenalin for the night’s game. The Warriors got on the board early; Kenny Domzalski scored on the team’s first possession. Johnny Hearon returned the ball to the Cardinal’s three yard-line after a punt return, putting Domzalski in position to run his second touchdown of the night. Quarterback, Josh Navitsky finished up the first half of the game throwing several touchdown passes, advancing the score to 42-7. Members of the Pike Area Youth Athletic League paraded onto the filed during halftime; the youth football players and cheerleaders waved to the crowd. In the second half of the game, Domzalski returned the kick-off, adding 6 more points to the scoreboard. Kicker Bill Davison scored the extra point, as he had done the previous seven times. He commented that by this point in the game he single-handedly scored more than the Cardinals. Domzalski’s fourth and final touchdown of the night finished Warrior scoring. The Warriors, now 3-0, are on the road tonight against Valley View.
