ARCHBALD - Regarded by many team members as one of the biggest games of the season, the showdown between Delaware Valley and Valley View took place in Archbald last Friday night. Observers said the undefeated Warriors entered the game with an intensity unseen in previous weeks; and despite what Coach Keith Olsommer described as a “sloppy offense,” they pulled out one touchdown win over the Cougars, 28-21. A completed pass from Josh Navitsky to Caleb Holocher put the Warriors on the scoreboard only two and a half minutes into the game. But on the following kickoff return, Valley View tied the score at 7-7. Navitsky ran the team’s second touchdown, which was answered by the Cougars only a few minutes later. At the end of the first quarter, Domzalski scored again on a pass from Navistky. The Warriors final points came in the second quarter when Domzalski ran the team’s last touchdown. The first half of the game concluded 28-14. Valley View came back in the third quarter to pull within a touchdown of the Warriors, at 28-21, but that was the end of the scoring. The Warriors, now 4-0, take on Honesdale this Friday on the Hornet’s turf.
