Bushkill A standoff between state police and an armed motorist ended quietly Wednesday afternoon, police at Blooming Grove reported. Police said David Cullen, 49, of Bushkill displayed a weapon and threatened to hurt himself after a 7 a.m. traffic stop on Gross Beak Court in the Pocono Ranchlands community. Police spent five and a half hours talking to the distraught man before he surrendered the weapon and was taken into custody. Police said Cullen was transported to a mental health facility for evaluation. No one was injured, but the standoff kept nearby community residents trapped in their homes and neighborhood children attending the Bushkill Elementary School were held at the school until the incident ended.
