WESTFALL — Students from the Delaware Valley High School are playing the stock market- “The Stock Market Game™,” that is. With sponsorship from Biondo Investment Advisors of Milford, students in Ms. Yanko’s and Miss Josephite’s Personal Budgeting and Finance courses are gaining an understanding of how to invest in the stock market for the future and for their retirement. “We really believe in investment education for young people, and we are very pleased to be part of this program for our local high school students,” said Biondo. Using “The Stock Market Game™,” students experience real-time interactive investing and they see how the market actually fluctuates, while it is happening, hour by hour and minute by minute in the real world of high stakes investing. The program is running from Oct. 1 to Dec. 1 at the high school. Groups of students are competing in class and will also be competing regionally and statewide. Students may also participate in “Invest Write” in which they will write an essay of 700 words about their investing experiences in a competition to win prizes, such as a computer, a trip to New York City and gift certificates. Biondo Investment Advisors is an independent, client-focused money management firm that has donated its time and resources to make this experience possible.
