Strong DV showing at technology fair
EAST STROUDSBURG - The regional competition of the Pennsylvania High School Computer Fair was held on March 23, 2007 at East Stroudsburg University. The Pennsylvania High School Computer Fair is sponsored by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Area high schools compete against one another within their local Intermediate Unit in eight categories pertaining to technology. Students from Delaware Valley High School, which is a member of the Colonial IU#20, submitted entries in the categories of digital movie, multimedia, curriculum based web, information based web, graphic design, desktop publishing, and logo design. This is the 7th year that Delaware Valley has participated in the competition, and all of the projects were outstanding and of the competitive level. Special congratulations go out to the trophy winners. First place winners will advance to the state level at Dickinson College in May. There they will have the opportunity to earn cash prizes and state recognition as they compete against the first place winners from the other 15 intermediate units in Pennsylvania. The categories and Delaware Valley winners included: Logo Design: second place, Kieran Ficken; Graphic Design: first place Kate McGettigan; and Desktop Publishing: second place Caity Vill, Angela Profeta, and first place, Ryan Balton, Alex Sorochinski, and Nick Troiano.
