Student creates logo design for watershed conservancy

WESTFALL The Twin & Walker Creeks Watershed Conservancy asked the DVHS Graphic Arts classes to design their new logo. Students first met with Joyce Laudis of the conservancy who educated the students about the mission of the conservancy and what they were looking for in a logo. Students followed the design process from idea generation to thumbnails to refinements to execution of a finished product. The finished logos were narrowed down to six for presentation to the Conservancy committee and senior Lindsey Anderson designed the final logo that was chosen. The conservancy awarded Lindsey and the Graphic Arts classes each with a $50 check. Students said the experience, overall, was extremely rewarding because it gave them the opportunity for real world design and community awareness.
