BLOOMING GROVE A 17-year-old honors student at Delaware Valley High School died Oct. 16, when he lost control of his car on state Route 2001 and struck a tree. State police said he died at the scene of the one-car accident shortly after midnight. Friends said Derek Wolsiefer of Dingmans Ferry, was active in the HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America) program. Members of the program tied white ribbons around the school flagpole in remembrance and made ribbons to wear on shirts. Friends made tee-shirts and placed memorial photos on his locker. Others painted their car windshields with messages of sympathy and sorrow. “He was very well liked and was friends with almost everyone,” said one friend.
