Students attend Science Action Day'

SELINSGROVE Hundreds of high school students and teachers travel to Susquehanna University during October and November to participate in five “Action Days.” The Action Day program is designed to provide students with an introduction to a variety of topics in different disciplines on the collegiate level. Each day also includes campus tours, lunch and career information. This year marks the 22nd anniversary of “Science Action” days, and this year it was held on Oct. 19. It featured workshops on physics, physical chemistry, organic chemistry, environmental science, biology, mathematics and computer science, and biochemistry. Delaware Valley High School sent four seniors to “Science Action” Day. These students included Lindsey Anderson who attended the environmental science workshop n “When Rocks & Water Don’t Mix”, Evan Fox and Anthony Fragola who attended the physical chemistry workshop n “Magnetic Nanoparticles”, and Margarita Polyak who attended the organic chemistry workshop n “Synthesis & Identification of Substances”. John Anderson, an Earth Science Teacher from Delaware Valley High School, accompanied the students to Susquehanna University.
