Students reach out

Student volunteer, Brett Fuchs, is pictured serving a Thanksgiving meal to the less fortunate. Volunteers from the Delaware Valley High School Junior Historian Club lent a helping hand at the Salvation Army last week in serving pre-Thanksgiving meals to the needy. Over 100 less fortunate residents from the Port Jervis area were greeted with smiling faces and a turkey lunch. Students aided in preparing the food as well. Fuchs, a volunteer and Delaware Valley senior, said that “It is truly a heartwarming experience to serve the community. They are very grateful and we are always happy to help.” The Junior Historians take part in many community activities, including a toy drive that will occur before Christmas. Adviser Tom Burns, DVHS history teacher, has involved the group in charitable community events for over 15 years. (Photo by Nick Troiano)
