Students win national honors

Westfall This year the HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) National Conference was held in Orlando, Fla., where over 5,000 competitors from 45 states participated. Delaware Valley High School represented the state of Pennsylvania with twenty-one state winners and is proud to announce that two DV students won on the national level. They are Ashley Stone and Nichole Calandrino. Ashley Stone, the niece of Joanna Stone and granddaughter of Howard Stone of Matamoras, won third place in First Aid Rescue/Breathing. Nichole Calandrino, daughter of Stephen and Rebecca Calandrino of Dingman’s Ferry, won 9th place in the Knowledge Test for Human Growth and Development. A statement from the district said that Delaware Valley is extremely proud of these two outstanding HOSA winners.
