“Stuff Drive” at Shohola Elementary School

Kyle Clark, a fifth-grade student at Shohola Elementary School, has a sister, Ashly Moyer, serving in Iraq as a Military Police officer. SES was honored to have her speak to the student body while she was home on leave over the holidays. Now that she has returned to serve, Shohola Elementary wanted to do something special for her and her unit. Kathy Maida, Student Council advisor, hosted a “stuff” drive for the unit. They asked for donations of Dove Chocolate, silly string (used to locate IEDs in the field), hard candies, mints, gum, Nips, Tic-Tacs, CD’s, DVD’s, sunflower seeds, beef jerky, cereal bars, energy bars, Breezer throat lozenges, cards, Rubik cubes, small games, Sudoku, or any other pocket foods. The drive was a huge success and people donated money to pay for the cost of shipping. Pictured are: Maida , student council representatives in charge of the drive, and Kyle Clark. (Contributed photo)
