MILFORD - At 6:45 a.m. on Wednesday a 2005 Ford Explorer driven by Mark Gualandi of Milford veered off Log Tavern Road and struck the guy wire which snapped the utility pole and interrupted electrical service to some 1400 homes. State police said Gualandi was not injured, but Mark Troutman a spokesman for Met Ed, said power service was out for most of the day. “Other poles along the transmission line up from the actual damage were also affected because when the pole was damaged it created slack areas which also had to be repaired”, remarked Troutman. Power was restored to 95% of the 1500 homes by 2:45 p.m.
