Talking tribes to the pack

Milford — Cub Scouts of Pack 71 in Milford enjoyed a visit from special guest Dan Ruth, an American Indian Hobbyist, at their September Pack meeting. Ruth, an Eagle Scout and registered member of the Boy Scouts of America for 57 years, retired from the National Boy Scout Council in 1999. In assisting the scouts achieve the elective of American Indian Life, he displayed many authentic artifacts, performed several chants and dances, and led the scouts in some very lively discussions. It is the mission of the Boy Scouts of America to serve others by helping instill values, to prepare them to make ethical choices during their lifetime in achieving their full potential.
