MILFORD - Each year, America’s teachers ensure their students have the tools they need to succeed in school. Staples (Nasdaq: SPLS) wants to make it easy for teachers to have the tools they need to do their job and is offering a thank you and a cool tool preview during its 2006 Teacher Appreciation Day. Staples is hosting Teacher Appreciation Day from 9 a.ra. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 26, at 88 of its Pennsylvania stores. The first 200 teachers visiting participating Staples stores on Teacher Appreciation Day will receive a Staples gift bag containing an academic planner, supplies and valuable coupons. Teachers will also have the opportunity to preview new tools like the write-on board squeegee and lined Post-It notes, as well as find information on Recycle for Education (www,staplesrecyclefored.com), a program that has raised $2 million for schools nationwide. Teacher Appreciation Day will be held at the Milford Staples store at 102 Milford Landing Dr. Suite 1.“Despite larger classes, tighter budgets and other challenges, teachers want the best for their students,” said Shira Goodman, executive vice president of marketing for Staples. “Teacher Appreciation Day is our way of letting teachers know how much they are valued and to make it easy for them to have the supplies they need to do their jobs.”
