SHOHOLA — PennDOT announced the completion of the Shohola-Barryville Delaware River Bridge project in 2007, but the sidewalk pedestrian railings for the project still have never been installed. Announcing the finished project two years ago, a PennDOT statement predicted that the decorative railings, including balconies over the bridge piers, would be installed during that winter. That didn’t happen and Carla Medura, project manager, reported in late May that, “Another fabrication error was identified in the transition sections from the bridge to the balconies, 15 new panels have to be manufactured and once they are delivered the remaining bridge sections can be installed. “After that, then the upstream bridge railing can be placed. I do not have a delivery date except that we have approximately three weeks of work once we get the railing on site,” she said.
